OBC refund

Recommended Posts

I pre-paid gratuities, purchased the beverage package, and was thinking of purchasing the discounted photo package. If I pre-pay all these expenses will I get any unused OBC back on my credit card at the end of the cruise? I have read things about going to the casino to withdraw the money and it sounded complicated.

There are different kinds of OBC. Some are refundable and you can get back any you don't spend, while some are not. You need to find out what you have. Not difficult to get the non-refundable from the casino but it will cost you 5%.

Some OBC is available in cruise planner when buying precruise. Ours is there I'm just leaving it to cover gratuities.

Not sure which kind I have. It was from a travel agent when I booked my trip.

That kind is usually refundable. Once you get onboard, after the second day, you can go to Guest Services and get a printout of your account. This will detail all your credits and show which is refundable and non-refundable.

If it's from your travel agent, or a credit card, it's refundable. If it came from the cruise line, it's NOT refundable.

They've just started allowing you to use your OBC prior to boarding the ship...so that's a great thing!

As has been stated, if it is from your TA it is most likely refundable. Whatever amount is left on your last day, you can just go to guest services and request the amount in cash. If you do not bother to cash it out, the remainder will go back to the credit card used to purchase the cruise.
