Hi All!

We are really getting excited to board our Yacht!

10 days and counting...leaving for St.Thomas on the 12th. Staying at the Best Western for 2 nights, love this little spot! Old school Caribbean!! Not the fanciest place we have been to but the staff more than makes up for it! And you cannot beat the beach bar! Can anyone recommend a couple of restaurants in town ? For the two nights? Seafood, local and delicious !?

Will be joining another couple on this trip and we have been raving about Seadream!! They must have gotten so sick ,hearing us, they had to try it for themselves! Haha! Although my friends husband is very nervous about sea sickness...never experienced small boats before. I'll just make sure I bring along my traveling medicine cabinet. lol

Also, shouldn't we have recieved our travel file by now?...this will be our 3rd Seadream voyage...just as excited as the first!! 😄

Thank you Jim!

We arrived in St.Thomas yesturday. Travel day was uneventful...

We are staying at the Best Western Emerald bay. Great little place with old school Caribbean appeal! Love the beach bar with a lovely bartender who pours generous amounts of Crown Royal. Last night we ate at a great local spot called Hook, Line and Sinker...Had the Caribbean lobster Thermidor. Yummmy!!

Tonight we dine at a place called the twisted fork. This place gets great reviews from everyone we speak to.

So, tomorrow is the Big day! Looking forward to setting foot on the Yacht again and also meeting HH and his wife Blondie...and as you mentioned Jim!

I should be looking for someone who looks like Mick ( Simply Red )? Right? LOL

Will be in touch to let you know how wonderful life is onboard!

Happy Valentines Everyone!

Kathy, Danny.

Hi all!

Could not resist sharing this wonderful evening with you!

Had plans to go to the twisted Cork for dinner tonight. Looked like a hole in the wall of a place at first glance but inside was a very charming decor. We were seated beside a table of 14 very loud people , so we decided to leave, as Danny just could not get comfortable with the atmosphere. Standing outside in the rain wondering what our next move should be , we asked a gentleman where the Oceana restaurant was? Asked how far a walk it would be in the rain? He kindly offered us a ride there. What a sweety!! A real gentleman! We accepted his invitation and along the way, Danny asks the usual...are you a local?, what do you do here on the island? Turns out we were being chauffered to the Oceana restaurant in the car of an American Senator. Oceana was a fantastic restaurant!! Outside terrace, amazing food and very professional friendly staff.

So, thank you Zimmy! For this terrific recommendation!!

We will never think about Friday the 13th the same way again!...now it's considered a lucky night for us!...

Oh! Forgot to mention something about this quaint hotel we have been staying at...every blipping morning there is a blipping Rooster that sits outside our door and doodles at 4:30 am ...grrr. Note to self! If we ever decide to come back here, pack a sling shot!! Hahaha!

HH, they say it has not rained here since christmas, hope it does not stay!?

Yikes!!

I think you should go back to sleep, h-h. Big day today!

Thanks Charlie, yes got back to sleep after Ho hum moved the rooster !

Put a load of pellet food outside the Canadian couple's room that made all that noise last night, singing "One Love" all night !

Haha

There is a large tilt now in the room and we are closer to the sea than we were last night....never seen subsidence like it !

Oh ho hum sees a Canadian couple outside with a blanket, written on which is "SOS", guess they mean "Sea on Ship". We wave and head for the port. Guess they made alternate transport arrangements !!!

Looks as though it may be clearing a tad...everyone is awake and we have just finished our breakfast...featuring fried Rooster!! LOL

After all the excitement of boarding Seadream, meet and greet looks like it will be an early evening!....or not!?

Now the question is?...board early or later?

I am trying with all my might not to think of the outside world!...

Found an AMAZING! Beach resto...Chrishies beach bar restaurant. About 5 minutes taxi ride further than the 4 seasons. This place is a must on your next visit. Lunch was a chicken roti type wrap, freshest I have ever come across!

Being the polite Canadians we are, asked if we may use their beach chairs...

" sure!! Go ahead!! No charge ". 4 seasons not a chance!!!

Will try to post a pic later...mmmmm....

Rented a little jeep at the dock. First stop Niki beach and of course a pit stop at Eden Rock for cocktails. Lovely property and beach.

Next stop Flamone beach! Wow! The waves are huge and the wind is strong!

Fun watching the locals serf the waves. Had a wonderful lunch at Taiwana restaurant the crab cakes are to die for!...followed by a little siesta by the pool.

Its gotta be tough being Yall! Sounds like us, drinks at a great bar then siesta on the Pool Deck. Tough. Don't worry about the -40 wind chill and massive amounts of snow in the Northeast US. I am sure Canada is just fine!:D:D

Jim,

Not feeling guilty in the least! Hehehe

Sitting here in Shoal bay east as recommended by Zimmy.

I have no words...beautiful!!! How are ever going to go back home to - 40.c

Yikes!! And our Yachting companions have been a true delight! So down to earth and open hearted! They have really been a joy to chat with! Of course I am talking about HH and Blondie!...

But there have been those we are trying to avoid at all costs also!!

Takes all kinds to make a world!! Lol

Shoal Bay East is our favorite beach as well (so far!). Glad you have HH and Blondie with you. Passenger makeup is so important on SD. Usually very good as ours was in Costa Rica. Loving your reports. :D

Well here we are sitting in the lobby of the Best western hoping to get a day room while we wait for our flight back to the deep freeze!

Had dinner again with HH and Blondie last night, another wonderful evening getting to know our new friends...though we all seemed a little more tired after the splash, which was a complete BLAST!!! tried a painkiller but felt it would be safer to stay away from it...after seeing the reaction it had on others, no names included!! Haha!

Learned a very important lesson this week. No more worrying over large groups or kids on board. The large group in question was a large company taking their best employees on an incentive trip. We chatted with quite a few of them, really nice people. Also, there was a family with two twin boys 14 yrs. So well behaved! Polite and very respectful sweet kids who we chatted with a few times.

All in all this was a fantastic trip made special by sharing it with our friends and meeting HH and Blondie. We feel Blessed to have been able to enjoy the company of terrific, kind, down to earth people and to visit some fabulous places on this planet!

See you in July Seadream 1!!!

So glad you enjoyed your SD voyage. Thanks for taking the time to check in. It is so nice you had a good passenger mix. That is what keeps us lurking, the people we have met on board or here on CC. A different sort of people are attracted to SD and nice times abound. At least when you break out the ole snow plow, you have the next one to look forward to.:D
