I received a Royal Savings PassportFrom my TA:confused:

It has expiration date of 12/2015

Anyone else receive this?

Royal no longer gives paper coupons. However, it sounds like your TA has their own coupon book.

It is the one huge thing I actually miss with Royal - that coupon book.

You knew exactly what you had and could plan which coupons to take on certain days depending on your own schedule for the day/evening.

The "hidden" version just doesnt work for me as I dont know what Ive got and/or when I can use the offer.

But you still get the "Coupons" printed in your cabin. There is the letter with all Coupons listed in your cabin, you just have the convenience to not Need the actual Coupon to take with you.

So you could still do the planning for when to use what Coupon and use it that day.

ETA: I don´t miss it a bit, as in the past I often forgot to take the Coupon, or wanted to use it spontaneously and of Course had it bac in the cabin. Today I don´t have to worry about it and just have to tell the staff member I want to use my Coupon for this or that and they apply it.

You can get a printout of your remaining coupons at any bar. Most bar servers will ask if I want to use a coupon.

Yes....Travel Agent's RCI rep gives agencies a case of coupon books. They are above and beyond any paperless ones. However, the only coupon in the book worth anything to me is the 2 for 1 drink. They are handy for first time Royal cruisers though. If you booked through a TA, ask for one :)

I miss that when they moved over to the paperless vouchers they did away with the match plays for the casino. :(

It was cheating, but I got and used a fair number of those from tablemates who didn't gamble. ;)

I like the new system in all other respects.

Seeing as how you have no control over when or how or on what your coupons are actually used, I don't see how one could plan to use it on a specific day, or a specific drink...

Personally I find the coupons they offer to be rather pathetic so I don't care one way or the other. The book could vanish completely and I wouldn't even notice.

Huh???

How do you have no controll over the use of the Coupons?

I´ve never had a Coupon used without my Knowledge or my approval.

I simply tell the crew when I wish to use a Coupon and it´s applied. It´s very easy.Much easier than having to carry the paper stuff and having to write the Name and folio on it.

I for one appreciate the Coupons.

For sure I don´t use all the Coupons and to be honest I probably use the minority of the offered ones, but still.

Certainly $80 off the Internet packages is far from pathetic and I´m very happy with it.

I´m not someone to use the spa, but for those who do I´m sure 20% off are not a bad Thing.

Why not get a photo that is given to me for free?

If I purchase some RC logo products anyway I´m happy with getting a 15% Discount.

Having three free Drinks loaded on my seapass Card for a few hours in the evening isn´t pathetic either to me.

I could go on and on.

I will use some stuff others will use more or less of it. But even for the stuff I don´t use, why should I want it to go away? Especially with the ecoupons, there´s not even some paper given to me. If I don´t want it I don´t even recognize it´s there.

First of all the "book" is long gone and secondly you have complete control on when you decide to use each coupon on your cruise....:rolleyes:

90% agreed. Almost everything is buy one get one... and they are things I frequently don't want 2 of.

  • 3 weeks later...

My TA sent us a Royal Savings Passport book with our docs for our upcoming cruise, and I was confused because I thought Royal did away w/ paper coupons, but this book looks RC legit and good through end of Dec. 2015. This is our first RC cruise, so I'm hoping we will be able to use the coupon book, as I doubt we will have any on our cruisepass. The 10% off internet and fitness class bogo I will try to use.

I am with you, we preferred the printed coupon book , also preferred getting everything in the mail including luggage tags ( at least we get luggage tags with suite)
