Luggage weight limit enforced?

I hear there's a 50lb weight limit per bag. Is that checked & enforced?

No. Only the airlines. However, do show mercy on the crew that has to handle luggage and haul it to the rooms. However, it won't be weighed.

Keep the airline weight restrictions on luggage in mind though if those bags are coming with you on a plane from your home to and from the cruise port (unless you want to pay an extra baggage fee).

Never heard of any limit being enforced by the dock workers BUT be prepared if your cases are VERY heavy for the dock workers to be less than careful with them. If you have trouble lifting them why should you expect anyone else to have to struggle, be considerate.

I've never seen it enforced. Do pay attention, though, to your airlines restrictions, if applicable. They enforce to the pound in most cases.

Not aware of any limit. If you exceed the limit, make sure that you can also carry it by yourself to be fair with the porters.

Yes, it says that, but it isn't enforced.

If that was enforced I would need probably 4 bags minimum.

My cases weight over 50 lbs on my last NCL cruise. Perhaps the fact that a 130 lb, 64 year old female lifted the cases out of the car with no problems stopped any comments from the porters.

I did get an eyebrow lift from the porter who took it from me.
