Change of passenger?

We have a cruise booked this summer. Our son interviewed for a summer internship. He won't find out till closer to summer and our cruise is in the beginning of July. My husband called earlier to see when we could cancel, etc. He was told after final payment we could change the passenger. Is this true? It would be great if we could take someone else in place of him if he couldn't go.

Up to now NCL has been pretty lenient with passenger name changes, even after final payment. As long as you are not changing both of the main guests on the booking.

I always make sure when I book cruises these days as I currently have 2 in college that I put the kid with the greatest chance of cancelling as 3/4 pax for this very reason

It's easier for us these past 2 years to do early January longer and cheaper NYC cruises with a true ksf

But I'm still very careful to list the cabin occupants in the best order anyway

Yes, i have changed one of the two passenger names 2x after final payment. It is do-able.

Definitely doable. I once had to change a second passenger's name two days before sailing because of a family emergency.
