Hope Jan has retired

Do you mean you hope Jan retired or that she did retire? She was lovely on our fall, 2014 Sojourn trip.

Asking again, if anyone is currently on the Odyssey, who is running the show? Thanks!

We are on now with -- Stig Betten (understand David Bathgate will take over in two days in Athens -- except we are not stopping in the port of Piraeus but another port nearby instead???), CD is Heather, Hot Director, new to SB from Silversea Stavros.

Thanks. Please post more about port change in Athens when you have more information. I think we'll do a Seabourn tour (vs private) on the 25th so it's on them to address the change. How are things going? Hope you are all having fun!

Jozi,

we were sailing this saturday from piraeus on the Odyssey and last night recieved an email from Seabourn telling us due to strike action we will now departing from Lavrion ,which is approx 80/90 kms south of piraeus. We have a hotel booked in piraeus friday night so it will a bit of a pain, but it could have been further and fortunately will only be about an hour by taxi.

regards

Thanks. Have a great trip. Just saw this and I realize that there are cruise critic articles as well:

Hope Seabourn makes up for the inconvenience in some way.

Hello again jozi,

We are not expecting much from Seabourn,we rang them this morning and they were saying that they will look after anyone on Seabourn packages (which is fair enough) and did not seem over bothered about anyone who had booked their own flights/hotels.

But hopefully it will all work in the end and will be safely aboard ship around lunchtime.

Regards

Keith

Returned from cruise on Saturday.

Captain Stig Betten

Cruise Director Heather Clancy (who is also a most wonderful singer)

Hi Heather

Following your participation in an earlier thread about OB and guarantee bookings we are all still waiting to hear which suite you were allocated?

Laurent (Lulu) joined the ship yesterday for two weeks -- training/ observing etc. He is now at the main office so sadly we can't expect him in rotation as Hot Dir. as he will float from ship to ship now and then. He may join the Encore but told us nothing is set in stone. When we were catching up we shared fond memories of our last of the last small ship cruises on the Legend a year ago. What a treat to see him again.

Heather has become a member of the very great CD's Seabourn is fortunate to have. Several years ago she was 2nd assistant CD, barely visible - except for the phenomenal show she does - but has progressed into a very competent CD. Hopefully we will sail with her on one of our upcoming cruises.

Just got off the Odyssey last Saturday, Athens/Athen. Heather is maybe the best CD we have ever had, we have about 200 days. If you are lucky enough to have her do a show on your trip do not miss it, she is an amazing talent.

We also went in and out of Laurion. If you are flying straight out not a bad deal 30-35 miles to the airport. We were staying in Athens. We took a half day tour driving down the beautiful coast line. Stopped at the temple of Pasadena, had a swim at a beautiful mineral bath lake, and had a nice lunch at a marina. We set it up through the car service. Hope this helps. Cheers
