I'm going on a cruise in December 2012, but after doing some research on the ship i heard some rumours of a drydocking scheduled for the end of 2012 for the Sea Princess. After doing some digging i found this website which if you look closely is going into dry dock prior to it's voyage from San Francisco to Sydney.

Does anyone know what work is scheduled to take place on the ship? Especially since i've heard alot of reviews describing how she is showing some age.

Radiance of the Seas - 15/01/2012

Crown Princess - 15/01/2010

In addition, the engines and thrusters are overhauled, propellers examined, electronics (operational, navigational and entertainment) updated, repairs made to areas which would inconvenience passengers if they were onboard, etc. It's kind of like taking your car in for a 10,000 mile maintenance, getting your tires rotated, oil changed, etc. :) All ships have a dry or wet dock every 2-3 years. The salt water, seas and dockings do a number on the ship.
