Just got off Empress of the Seas! Another amazing trip. Put together a quick video that highlight what I did in port. I opt for the self guided people-to-people which included hiring a taxi for 40 cuban peso per hour and met with local skateboarders and talked about their day to day life.

I've heard cash is the only option there. What would you guys recommend as far as carrying it? I've heard that pickpocketing can be an issue. I considered getting a fanny pack lol.

Also does anyone know anything about the medical coverage that the Cuban government requires? Vacation protection from carnival covered that but we opted out. I didn't realize it was a requirement.

Royal Caribbean includes it as part of the cruise. I don't think there's even an option to opt out.
