Piazza del Duomo in Pisa

Would like to know if anyone has done this excursion and thoughts on it. :) Thank you.

Pisa is only a 20mins train ride away from Livorno (trains run often). Just take a taxi from the port to the train station in Livorno and when u arrive in Pisa everthing is walkable so you can spend a lot of time there. Enjoy your day in Italy! :cool:

You do - you can either buy them from the ticket machine or the 'window' with the real

person

And I usually buy a return ticket when in Livorno when I and headed to Pisa or Lucca just so I don't have to worry about it in the afternoon on my way back.

We loved Pisa and wish we had more time to spend there (only got to go on way back from the ship's zip-through-Florence tour on our trip a couple of years ago. Must Go Back.). be careful about pickpockets. One of our group was surrounded by chatty local women selling souvenirs (on that track from the Pisa parking lot to the tower) -- and found them unzipping her purse.

I was pleased to read that Pisa is recommended. A relative had just commented that apart from the leaning tower, there was nothing much there.

That's what I thought also. I was there a few years ago, maybe I also missed things. Perhaps I was so taken by the leaning tower I failed to look further afield.
