Look south after dark tonight, the Southern Lights

( Aurora Australis) have been visible from southern Victoria the last couple of nights. You might be able to see them off to Starboard in the early hours.

Perhaps suggest to the Captain that the Bridge makes an announcement on (I think) Channel 16. Those that want to hear can leave their TV's on loud with the doors shut.

(We did this on Quest last year off Greenland for the Aurora Borealis).

The captain lowered the lights on deck 12 for us the other night for a few hours so we could star gaze.

Also, earlier in the cruise when we were further south, Handre said he would wake us in the middle of the night if the southern lights made an appearance. No lights though.

I take it that you didn't see them, here's a photo of Aurora Australis looking south from Cape Schank, near Melbourne, a couple of months ago. That's the Milky Way on the right53b96ff96d143d11c1bc392f40b38ec3.jpg
