Marina - extended balconies = smaller cabin?

Hi

I am contemplating to book the 7008 on Marina, which have larger balcony, but I was reading in one post that the cabin is smaller than the regular veranda's. Is that so? if yes by how much?

This will be our first cruise on Oceania, cannot wait.

Thank you so much

It is smaller than the other extended balconies, but much bigger than the regular balconies. The primary disadvantage of this balcony is people above you can see you if you are in the extended part of the balcony. The other disadvantage depends on the type of cruise you are on. If the ship has to sail at close to its top speed, the spray caused by the bow cutting through the water is quite heavy. It will cause many of the lower balconies towards the bow to be quite wet. This is probably most pronounced on transoceanic cruises. From Tahiti to Peru, I wasn't able to use my balcony except for the days we were at Pitcairn Island and Easter Island.

Perhaps you are thinking about aft PHs? These have much larger balconies than regular PHs but do have a smaller cabin.
