Was wondering about Oceania departure from Miami. Are there hotels nearby which would keep the car for a week should we stay overnight?....or is there a very secure compound whereby we could leave our car while we're at sea?

Haven't sailed on Oceania and looking forward to the experience. Loved Seabourn and as Platinum status with Princess, they really don't appreciate previous guests as they offer absolutely minimal to nothing while other quality lines are actively seeking business and offering little perks. In today's very competitive market, works for me.

Thanks for any and all input.

You can park at the port for $20 pd the parking building is right across from the port building at terminal J

Most hotels with a park & stay package are near the airport

We parked at Embassy suites (did not stay there) for under $10 pd when we had a longer cruise (30 days) then took a taxi to from the port

it still saved us some $$ in the end

Car was fine when we returned

I can't speak to Miami but others have given you good info. For me, when I park at the Newark Airport there are many lots around that have a decent per day rate (usually under $10 a day, closer to $6 or $7 depending on the offer) plus the deliver you to the terminal and pick you up on your return.

As a local example here, for our June/July cruise on Nautica the car was at a Newark lot for something over 3 weeks. The cost wasn't cheap but it pretty much was a wash when we considered what cabs would have cost coming and going. Or going and coming ...

At JFK it's a very different story! Long term parking has become so expensive that we don't consider it, although we did find it very advantageous quite a number of years ago.

Obviously we are New Yorkers! But perhaps a google for "airport parking Miami" or something similar would give you more choices.

The point about hotels that offer you a parking advantage is a good one. At both JFK and Newark there are hotels that let you leave your car for a very reasonable day rate, and most only require one night's stay to qualify.

Good luck.
