I sailed the Koningsdam in July to Norway for 14 days and it was $30 a bag. You can stuff A LOT in the bag. It comes back perfect too!!!! This is the first time I did a bag on a cruise and it was so easy -- you did not have to worry about it at all. More time for vacation fun.

On every HAL cruise, the navy blue bag for laundry is always available in your cabin. You can fit a lot into it if you roll your items and then designate on the form, that you want the laundry by the bag (check that box on the form.) You can do this every day up until the last day of the cruise.

We have sailed twice on the Koningsdam, both on transatlantic cruises. The first time we did the unlimited package, at $7 a day. We had been in Rome for a week and came aboard with lots of laundry that needed doing. Our second time we did the "stuff a bag for $20". Those bags are sturdy fabric and they hold a lot of clothes! You can really stuff them.

The stuff a bag option was available every day, just circle that option at the bottom of the laundry form.

We always got our laundry back quickly - either the same day or the next. We never had anything damaged by the ship's laundry. It comes back neatly folded and pressed, or on hangers.

There is no self service laundry on the Koningsdam.

Newbie question! Do you have to sign up for laundry by the bag in advance or only when you want to have some laundry done on board? Thanks for your reply.

You don't have to do anything to use laundry by the bag, other than to prep your laundry.
You complete the inventory sheet, noting what is in the bag, keep your copy and place the other two copies in the bag with your dirty clothes, and the 'per bag' amount will be charged to your account. You check off right on the invoice what you are doing.
