We are on the Aug 22nd Soujourn cruise and was looking at Seabourn tours and or private drivers for the various ports. The stop in Sardinia is not the usual cruise ship port (Cagliari). I thought It was a good port for a private tour/driver but they all seen to be out of Cagliari three hours away. Any suggestions for what to do? Has anyone taken the Seabourn tours out or this port?

Thanks and any other private guides int he various ports of this itinerary would be appreciated.

When we were in Golfo Aranci in May it went to the top of the list as the least appealing Mediterranean port. It even got ahead (in my estimation) of Civateveccia. It might be different in summer when there will be more sailers and holiday makers, but as a destination it lacks appeal. We didn't do an excursion and maybe that's what you need to look at.

Well as to another opinion we lived Golfo Aranci with its s scenic beauty. The setting of the town around the the curved beach tucked in the bay at the base of the mountains was lovely. We also had one of the best hikes along the town to the south to Capo Figari. Wonderful scenery, easy trail and few other hikers. It is a matter of what interests you.

Do you know if there will be taxis at the port? We wanted to rent a car but you have to pick it up at Olbia airport and it is out of the way. We wanted to go to Cala di Volpe for lunch and walk around a bit. We thought we would take a taxi. Possibility? Your thoughts?

It is a largish port both for Mediterranean cruise operators and ferry services. There are bound to be taxis. Google Taxi Porto Aranci and at least two companies show up, with phone numbers.
