Carnival Gift Cards

Has anyone ever bought these gor their cruise? Our local grocery store sells them and I was thinking about but some to use for my on board spending. Just wondering what you all think good or bad.. TIA

Yes, have bought several over the years, usually through Verizon at a 10% discount. Have used them to pay for the cruise and also to use on the cruise.

Yes. We pay our deposit with a cc and buy gift cards for the balance to earn fuel perks. We also buy gift cards and apply them toward our on board account.

Yes. Usually will pick some up prior to the cruise, then apply them to our Sign & Sail account when we get on board. Lately PayPal Digital Gifts on eBay has been having sales, purchase $75 in Carnival gift cards and only pay $60. Sweet [emoji3]

Sure, Verizon and AARP have them at a 10% discount and there are frequent sales on EBAY through Paypal that gets you $75 for $60 worth of giftcards. Publix recently had a sale too if you bought $50 worth of groceries you could purchase discounted giftcards. One of the only restrictions is that you cannot pre-purchase Cheers using them.

Allstate rewards, Verizon, & AARP usually have 10% discounts. This is big because you can save hundreds of dollars.

Sometimes ebay has extra incentives.

I have been buying them along the way to get enough to buy a cruise. Lowes sells them too.

Publix recently had a sale too if you bought $50 worth of groceries you could purchase discounted giftcards. One of the only restrictions is that you cannot pre-purchase Cheers using them.

Actually, you can use them to pre-purchase Cheers! I'm not sure if this is a recent change or not but; it certainly makes the gift cards more convenient.

I actually called that number, the rep told me the only way to use the gift card was onboard. She told me that if I told the person selling Cheers on the ship that I wanted to buy before the cruise, then I would still get the discount. I am not going to risk this, because I could see the person on the ship telling me that I have to pay full price. Maybe my rep was misinformed?

Citibank also has the gift :)cards at a 10% discount

Were you actually able to use the gift cards to purchase Cheers? I was told I could not use them to pre-purchase, so I just put it on my credit card and will use the GC for OBC. Not a big deal, but I will call them back if you had success.

I'm doing the same thing. There's a rumor floating around that you'll be able to use GCs to purchase Fun Shop items after the first of the year, but I don't want to cut it that close. Sure, it'd be nice to save another $35, but I'm not that worried about it.
