How to maximize OBC on Cunard

Many cruisers may pass up adding $$$ available to cover all these onboard charges that seem to keep adding up .

If you are booking a Cunard cruise , be aware of the multiple "combinable" Onboard Credits that may be available to you (especially if you book with a US travel agent).

Here are most all of them:

1)CCL Shareholder OBC

2)Military OBC

3)Book Next Cruise Onboard OBC

4)TA's Cunard Cruise Sale Week OBC

5)TA's Speculative Group OBC Amenity

6)TA's "Thanks for booking" OBC (or upfront discount)

7)Cunard "Sale" that may include OBC.

3)Book Next Cruise Onboard OBC

You don't have to actually book the cruise on board. Just a Future Cruise Down Payment. You can book the cruise when you get home through a TA. In the UK you don't have to book the cruise for 12 months. And I think it's 4 years in the US.

If you deposit $300 at the travel office on board for future travel you get $150 OBC for the next voyage.

If you deposit $1200 for the next two trips for two people you end up with $150 OBC for each person for each trip. It's good for up to 4 years AND if for some reason you don't travel it is totally refundable.

This may only apply to US passengers????

Hi old fool. My husband and I (US passengers) usually purchase a future cruise credit while on board, costing $300 per person. In return, this serves as our deposit when we book our next cruise, and we are credited with $300 on board credit per person (and applied to our next cruise in the Fall). Perhaps terms have recently changed?

Regards,

Salacia

£50 deposit in the UK, good for only one year and non-refundable.

$150 OBC for 6-9 nights cruise, balcony cabin

$300 OBC for 10 nights+ cruise, balcony cabin.

One thing that leaves a very sour taste in my mouth is as a UK cruiser the terms as you say are above but why if on the same cruise a US citizen boooks a FCD they get 4yrs to use it and if not they get it refunded. Everybody on Cunard cruises should get the same terms whatever country they are from another case of UK cruisers being stitched up again as cruise prices are usually higher as well and if we cancel we lose our deposit. I suppose its a case of Carnival being an American company looking after their own and shafting UK cruisers.
