Silver Spirits Beverage Package on Viking

The Romantic Danube cruise in September will be our first river cruise. We realize the pros & cons of a beverage package. How do they verify one has purchased the SSBP, or do you just give your stateroom #? Second once you have your drink from the bar, are you allowed to take your cocktail to your stateroom? Thanks for any help.

Never heard of any problem leaving a bar with your drink on a ship.

IME there are so few pass' on the 'ship' and so few bartenders (only one bar) ... they pretty much figure out who's drinking what and whether they are 'on the plan' or paying pretty quickly!

By the second day they just started pouring when we showed up for our b4 dinner drink .... and met us by name. Same at the front desk .... well not pouring there ..... but every day with a greeting they'd remind me "you have a BUNCH of on board credit Mr O .... start spending ... don't waste it"

And you can take your drink where ever you want .... in fact I don't ever recall seeing a waiter/waitress up on the top deck ... outside ... if we had drinks up there we'd carried 'em.

We have a $400 ship board credit. Can we use this to purchase the Silver Spirits pkg of $200 pp for our 7 day cruise. If so can we preorder the pkg with Viking? Thanks in advance.
