Balcony dividers on Infinity

Probably not. A few of the Aqua class rooms' dividers can be opened, but in general, the dividers on that ship are fixed in place.

Our last cruise on the Summit (M-Class Ship) we were in cabin 1114 and 1116. They open the divider for us with a allen wrench or hex key.

Are balcony dividers able to open on the Infinity to connect balconies of adjacent cabins? Thanks!

Last week, we were able to have the dividers opened in AQ2 between 9071 and 9073. You can't do it yourself; it takes a heavy duty wrench to unscrew the bolt, but then the divider swings to open and rests alongside your cabin window.

Frankly, I would think all or most of the balcony dividers on the ship would be constructed the same way and should theoretically be able to open, but I can only comment on our dividers.

We also requested opening the dividers between 9073 and 9075 and were denied...nothing to do with the dividers themselves: the way the boat is designed, opening that divider in either direction would block the sliding door to the balcony in either room, and was therefore considered a safety hazard.

So, my conclusion would be that at least the AQ cabin dividers on the Deck 9 and Deck 11 can technically be opened -- but it depends on your room as to if, when swung open, the divider blocks or doesn't block the window.

If you were to try to figure it out...rooms where the beds are back to back (where the beds share a common wall) can have the dividers opened, because the sliding doors are on opposite sides of the balcony, hence the divider can be swung in either direction and not obstruct the door. Adjacent rooms where the beds face the same way have their balcony doors next to the dividers and would thus be blocked. Check your bed configurations.

It is possible though, that these are new dividers installed when they renovated the AQ rooms on Deck 9 -- and therefore the dividers on the rest of the ship for non AQ cabins won't open -- but they didn't look particularly new and I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. Perhaps someone can confirm on a current or future voyage.
