What Do You Like Best About Each Ship Class?

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd start a fun post...plus a little education for myself. There are 7 RCL Ship Classes. What makes each class unique or extra special?

I'll start with what I know and my two cents....

Oasis Class - The Extra Neighbourhoods such as Central Park and Boardwalk, DreamWorks experience, Broadway show, future waterslides, Aqua shows

Quantum Class - The North Star for views, RipCord for sky diving, the Sea Plex for activities such as Bumper Cars and rollerskating, DreamWorks, Broadway show

Freedom Class - DreamWorks and H20 so kid friendly

Radiance Class - ?

Voyager Class - ?

Vision Class - ?

Sovereign Class - ?

I know in general, the ships are offering tons of more options for dining. Before, there was the main dining room and windjammer. Now, there are many more spots (some complimentary, some extra)

Oasis Class - Aft seating on deck 5 full promenade, Champagne Bar and Blaze. Trellis Bar and Sabor. Non-smoking side of Casino. Forward outdoor area on deck 14. *aft secret balconies before taken away. *They seem to have taken away the Caviar buffet from the Champagne Bar at cocktail hour and will not have the Champagne Bar on Harmony.

Quantum Class - Two70, Boleros, Mamma Mia, aft outdoor WJ dining, Wonderland and Devinly Decadence.

Freedom Class - Jade Sushi for early complementary appetizer. Access to helipad with full deck 5 promenade. Forward Gym with complementary sauna and steam room. *St. Tropez more private area above deck 12 forward prior to being removed on some ships and two level night clubs with easy access to casino before they started removing them.

Voyager Class - Access to helipad with full deck 5 promenade. Forward Gym with complementary sauna and steam room. *St Tropez area above deck 12 forward for relaxing after Spa and Gym before started removing them and the 2 level night clubs before removed.

Radiance Class - Aft WJ outdoor dining, full traditional promenade. Park Café is handled best in Solarium on this class with great lunch salad assortment. Specialty dining venues very well placed on this class. Spa and Solarium nicely placed together with complementary sauna and steam rooms.

Vision Class - Aft Junior Suites, secret stairway from deck 8 to 9 for Spa and Solarium ship within a ship feel. Service level at Café Latte-tudes. These smaller ships can be great if the right 'crowd' is on board and great contact with the crew.

Sovereign Class - Traditional Cruising, Best return passenger events, historic significance of the ship. A well run ship.

Oasis Class - Central Park at night, Entertainment (Broadway, Aqua, Ice shows).

Quantum Class - Two70 (look for the Harry Potter curtains), technology, ultra-modern.

Freedom Class - This is the standard RC experience. Has a little bit of everything (Flowriders, rock wall, theater, etc).

Radiance Class - Glass everywhere offering frequent sea views. Radiance of the Seas best in class.

Voyager Class - Cool promenade. Great "introduction" to RC.

Vision Class - Stunning atrium, Smaller/Intimate Size.

Love reading all the responses.

Looking forward to the beach pool on Allure. My understanding is it has a slow drop to get in?

Correct. There are even loungers in the shallow part of the pool.

I don't think I would describe it that way. As Bob said, the loungets are in the water, at least the front row. However the pool itself goes fro about 4 inches deep to 5' deep with a normal wall.

It also has umbrellas with tables. Those come in handy since the lounges are in the water

Sounds neat and great for a hot day. Thanks for explaining.
