Brian, Emtbsam/Victoria sent me the Silversea online announcement:

http://ws.silversea.com/TR/HTML/silversea/EM15599_WC_2017_SM.html

Per the last graph, following the Venetian inaugural sailing, the Muse will sail

13 days (Portofino to Istanbul). Believe the Maiden voyage will precede the

Venetian inaugural--we shall soon see as the itineraries for 2017 are released.

Reading the WC press release, it states that a 3 night inclusive package on the Muse is indeed a free extension of the WC for all full WC passengers.

Those WC passengers will be given priority when filling cabins on the Muse. They can opt to stay for the entire cruise for a total of 13 extra days.

Once they know who's in, the rest of us can fill the rest of the space. Plus there will be a lot of SS establishment also on the 3 day sailing, starting out of Nice.

If there's a lot of interest from WC passengers, I suppose they will be selling the itinerary as a 13 or a 10 day, based on availability of cabins.

If those number are high, it will feel like being late to a party. If one opts to get in on day 4, you completely miss the party.

Starting to rethink even wanting to play this game.

Good points Karaoke Queen. Tho, am of the belief based on the initial Silver Muse announcement that the maiden voyage will be in the Spring/April 2017. So, I think that the maiden voyage will be before the WC mini muse party. At least (for the points u make above--we were on two segments of Spirit Grand Voyage in Feb/March this year and we indeed, like you intimate above felt at times, we were late to the party.

Christine, you will NEVER be late for the party as it can't start without you!!

  • 1 month later...
The schedule will be out in about a month.

I assume the Muse deck plans have to be posted on the web site before the schedule comes out, otherwise, how can one book a cruise without knowing where the suites are located.

  • 4 weeks later...

It appears that "a big meeting will be held mid week" when updated information will be relayed to the sales staff of SS for onward transmission to the rest of us concerning the Muse's itineraries.

It seems the inaugural Mediterranean season will see the ship sailing between the usual turnaround ports, of Athens, Istanbul and Venice, plus those in the western Med.

The rumour is that she will be christened in Monte Carlo.

On 28 August the ship is expected to leave the Med and head for Lisbon.

On 12 October there is likely to be a day-long event with the Muse in Fort Lauderdale, and at a date thereafter she will circumnavigate South America, with Buenos Aires to Bridgetown as the last leg.

Stand by for news this week!!

Kindest regards

Master Echo

We are aboard the Spirit. Today the cruise consultant was informed that bookings will indeed begin October 26 , just hours after we disembark. We received a Silversea e-mail today, announcing that the silvermuse.info website has begun providing information and virtual tours. That site now describes six of eight restaurants. No mention of any main dining room. No mention of whether reservations will be required by all, which might be extra fee, etc. Can't imagine how the logistics will work. Stay tuned. Should be interesting. Suites look similar, slightly larger, and there is apparently a two bedroom option among the silver suites.

Thank you Wes for your reply.

We understand that the 2017 programme is still provisional and subject to change. In the absence of any better information on CC at present, my previous post aimed to at least provide some insight into SS plans.

The London office training will take place tomorrow (Wed) and then it will become clear how bookings will be handled next Monday 26th October. As you will see from the website, it appears that the 2017 World Cruise passengers who complete the entire world cruise, will get three days on the inaugural for free.

Regarding the Muse microsite which went live today, why does it state 423 days to the inaugural? This would put the date as mid December 2016!!!

Wellseasoned queried why no mention of no MDR - my understanding from an SS source in May, had said there would not be one, this of course may have changed.

Kindest regards to you all and here's to the inaugural Muse sailing!!

Spinnaker2 shared this nice Muse link below (announces the bookings for inaugural voyages begin October 2015):

http://www.silvermuse.info/

Thank you so much for sharing this link with us. It appears that the three categories of verandah suites are identical except for location. There is no "make-up module" anymore in front of the bed, perhaps due to decreased cabin width? (As the Muse likely has a wider beam, the cabins need to be longer and narrower?) Also there is no mention of vista suites (without balconies). So it has become an all-balconied ship? The overall verandah suite size has increased slightly from 376 to 387 sq.ft. compared to the Spirit. That is an increase of 3%, so if the ship's beam width has increased by more than 3%, the cabin's width would have to be decreased. Presumably the Muse is still a single aisled ship.

We cats will be watching its construction closely on the web. We plan on trying it out ourselves in the Autumn of 2017, when everything will be in the best shape.

Echo Candy's/Spinnaker's thanks to all (and Wellseasoned's Spirit on board report).

Also, thanks to Meow for another concise ship/Muse metric analysis with limited Muse data to draw from. We dearly hope the Muse is designed with a wider pathway from the bed to the opposite suite wall.

Thank you kindly for replying. Once we know the Muse's beam width, we can estimate the verandah suite's approximate width, and therefore the bed to wall distance.

By the way, we took a Princess cruise around Japan three months ago

Viking River Cruises made us (and everyone on this continent) prepay in full our two-week Grand European voyage in October 2016, so trying out the Silver Muse in the Autumn of 2017 should be timely

I would agree as long as the vanity, mirror, and needed electric sockets are not sacrificed....

Yesterday we emailed SS to alert them that the Muse microsite (http://www.silvermuse.info) was showing 423 days to the inaugural voyage. We have been told that the IT department is looking into this, but currently the countdown has only changed to 422 days! Once this glitch is rectified we should have an accurate date for the inaugural voyage, which may precede the three day cruise being offered to full WC passengers.

Kindest regards

Further to my previous post, SS has reset the date count down. Depending on whether allowance has been made by SS for 2016 being a leap year, this puts the date of the inaugural as April 21 2017!!

This then leaves open what the ship will be doing during the period from that date until the 3rd May, because it would suggest quite a lengthy inaugural voyage? All will be revealed tomorrow hopefully, when bookings open!!

Kindest regards
