The Regal Princess and the Caribbean Princess are sister ships but they have about as much in common as our daughters ....

But , we are getting ahead of our story , and it's only just beginning !

When my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday , the honest answer was a cruise where we could dive . Well she wanted one also , and so we ended up with two . We have a old connection with Ft. Lauderdale . It was where we were married , honeymooned , bought our first house , and had our first child . And since we would be cruising from there , we thought that it would be fun to spent the night there before our first cruise . We agreed on a place not far from where we got married the Lago Mar . We had seen the pictures of it online and we can afford it now , unlike the Holiday Inn Express that broke the piggy bank , when we honeymooned there almost 40 years ago !!

It is an older , ocean front property , located in Fort Lauderdale and has a long and interesting story .

It was decorated for Christmas when we arrived there on December 4th .

After checking in and parking our car we arrived at our assigned room but we weren't quite sure of what to expect .

Love your tale so far...can't wait to read more!

Nice to see you on the boards! We were just thinking of you and Phil! Hope you are well! We were on the Royal last year and then we tried Cunard! Next is Asia with HAL! Hopefully we will sail again together one day!

We were living the suite life and we wished that we could have a suite like this on the cruise ship .

I thought that I had taken some video , but I didn't , so will you settle for a sunrise instead ?
