Wow that's a big ship. Has everyone seen that the majestic deck plans are up on the Princess website. There are seven full passenger decks.:eek:

Looks like the reports of stepped decks are wrong.

All the decks look exactly the same as the Royal and the Regal.

That was the first thing that I noticed...just like before the Royal sailed the cabin description erroneously showed Deluxe Balcony cabins had larger balconies.

 

Such mistakes on deck plans are ridiculous particularly on the 3rd Royal-class ship! :eek:

This was my mistake...looking closer there appears to be a bumped out aft balcony section. :o:o:o

Looks like the reports of stepped decks are wrong.

 

All the decks look exactly the same as the Royal and the Regal.

If you look at the pictures you will see that there are two stepped deck, Dolphin and Emerald but only forward and aft of the lifeboats. Dolphin deck will have deluxe balcony cabin with deeper balconies that extend over the minisuite cabin. The forward and aft minisuite balconies all be exposed extending beyond the end of the Dolphin deck balconies above.

 

On Emerald deck there are 17 forward and 13 aft mini's on both sides and on Dolphin deck there are 17 forward and 12 aft deluxe balconies with approximately 9'x9' "Caribe deck" balconies on both sides. This can't be done where the lifeboats are but it is an improvement.

"Will be launched on February 8, Majestic Princess, the first unit commissioned by Carnival Group for the shipping company Princess Cruises, designed and built specifically for the Chinese market at Fincantieri's Monfalcone. No coincidence that the date chosen for the launch is that of the Chinese New Year, which for citizens originating in the Asian country is the biggest holiday of the year.

Also in front of his destination to the Chinese market, where it will open in the summer of 2017, Majestic Princess will bring the hull the name Sheng Shì Gng Zh Hao, who, chosen by the employees of Carnival plc's China, has the meaning of "Grand World" or "Grand Spirit".

 

Before doing is based in Shanghai, the ship passengers spend however almost two months in the Mediterranean. The inaugural cruise of five days, will depart from Civitavecchia on April 4 next year. The reference port of Shanghai, Majestic Princess then take his 3,560 guests on cruises to Japan and Korea, confirming the high quality of the solutions that have made big sisters "Royal Princess" and "Regal Princess", always built in Monfalcone and delivered in 2013 and 2014, so popular. Majestic Princess also will be enhanced by the large atrium developed rising on several bridges and the "seawalk", a walk from the transparent floor eight meters above the sea over the stern of the ship. Majestic will therefore continue to represent a technological reference point in Europe and worldwide for the innovative lay-out, the extremely high performance and high quality of technical solutions.

 

The basin of the establishment of Panzano remain free only a few days, because already on February 14 will host the Carnival Vista, the new flagship of the US shipping company with its 133,500 gross tons. Launched June 25, 2015, the view will remain in dock a couple of weeks to do the dock prior to sea trials required before delivery to the shipping company. An appointment that this is confirmed by the end of April. Once free again, the basin of the shipyard in early March will see the setting of the MSc Seaside, whose first steel was cut at the plant on June 22 and that will be the largest unit ever built at Panzano with its 154 thousand gross tons. 223 meters long, 70 meters high over all and 40 wide, the Seaside is also a prototype with innovative design, thus representing a new challenge for the Fincantieri shipyard

 

Monfalcone. The ship will boast a 360-degree promenade on the water and a water park with an original design and interactive with five slides and attractions for all ages, but also a "yacht club" even more exclusive with pool, lounge and private sun."

Interesting. Seawalk over the STERN of the ship. That is completely different from Royal and Regal. Would be a great view of the wake!

The Seawalk is in the same location on the Majestic as on the Royal and Regal.

It'll be interesting to see if there is more painting of the hull. :(

 

Princess sent out surveys several months ago with proposed designs for painting the hull & I preferred no change. Apparently they decided that the Asian market needed a design on the Majestic's hull but hopefully the remainder of the hull will be nothing like NCL's hulls. ;)
