SailAway Party?

A big part of cruises here in Australia is the SailAway Party. They have lots of loud party music (sometimes a live band), all the entertainment staff on deck, dancing, drink specials, etc. they make a real party of it. Does this sort of thing happen on the Carnival ships?

What you described sounds like quite a bit more than what I've experienced on Carnival. On most of my cruises (but not all), we've had music (not live music) & dancing (group/line dances), usually 2 or 3 songs, for about 10 minutes, with a few of the social staff. No real drink specials that they wouldn't have before and after the sailaway time. It's still fun, but not what I would call a party like what you've described.
