Nassau best snorkeling

One thing I dislike about snorkeling excursions is the limited amount of time you get. I really want to find a great spot to snorkel with out own equipment and without a 45 minute to 1.5 hour limit. Has anyone had any luck snorkeling on their own in Nassau? TIA.
