Snorkeling Suva & Savusavu Fiji

Planning to take snorkeling excursions to Bequa Lagoon from Suva & Lighthouse Reef in Savusavu Bay. Are one or both worth it and how strong are currents on average? I can snorkel but don't like to cope with strong currents.

Thanks y'all,

Jill

I havn't done either of these but friends in Fiji tell me that Savusavu is great - and not as busy as Beqa. I don't know when you are planning your trip, but bear in mind that Suva has a very rainy climate between November and April.

I did the Beqa Lagoon trip on 4/27. I didn't feel any current but it was choppy that day. I don't like snorkeling in 2 foot waves. It is an open water snorkel trip on a reef out in the middle of the lagoon. It is a pretty reef and worth the effort. The bus ride is a pain, about 50-60 minutes. The boat ride is 10 minutes, maybe 2 miles.
