Geiranger electric cars.

Has anyone experience of hiring an electric car in Geiranger? It appears to be a new venture for this year. There are several different tours offered by Geirangerfjord services and it seems to be a fun way of seeing some of the immediate area.

The site mentions a 30 minute walk from the Geiranger port to the Fjord Centre to pick up the car. How strenuous would the walk be? If I-Cruiser sees this post, then maybe they can comment. Thanks.

He did see your post:D

Actually, I came from Geiranger today. The el-cars were all parked in the village just a few hops and skips from the tender landing.:)

From what I hear the company had good reviews with the cars. Its a very popular activity.

As you know you will drive yourself and using the GPS guided tours. (tours are available in English, German and Norwegian)

The cars offers 6 different tours.

To walk from Geiranger tender landing to the Fjord Senter takes approx. 20-30 minutes.

Many thanks for your reply. I need to contact the company to enquire when the hire season starts. We will be in Geiranger on 4th May and wonder if that is a little early regarding road and weather conditions?

Contacting them might be your best bet. Normally the season starts later in May/early June. They might be open early when there are ships calls. Also the weather conditions so early in May would have an impact.
