san juan Marriott or La Concha Renissance?

I have a pre-cruise night on hold at each of these hotels, anyone have any input as to which is better? Honestly DH just wants the one with a nicer pool.

I booked La Concha based on its iconic Mid Century Modern restaurant. It's an architectural marvel and I want to get amazing photos of it! :-)

I stayed at both hotels. La Concha pre cruise and the Marriott after cruise. Without a doubt, La Concha was our favorite! It had such a wow factor and we truly loved our stay. As a testament to how much we liked it, we would actually consider staying there for an entire week rather than take a cruise.

This is too funny I was just looking at both these options. Any idea what the cost is to the pier from each?

I stayed at the La Concha earlier this year. It's very well-appointed, and has three different pools, including one reserved only for adults. I would definitely recommend it! I'd suggest going outside the hotel for breakfast though - I was not impressed with their breakfast restaurant.

As for taxis, they run on a zone system in San Juan (see the rate chart here). From Old San Juan (Zone 4) to Condado (Zone 3), the fare would be $12 plus tip.
