I received an email saying P&O summer 2019 cruises go on sale 4th September. I know this isn't Cunard but they are both owned by Carnival and run out of the UK offices so I guess it may be around the same time?

A good deal of the Cunard 2019 schedule can now be found under the "Find a Cruise" function here on Cruise Critic. Here is what I have been able to compile so far from various sources for the Cunard 2019 schedule that is not already available on "cunard.com".

I haven't been able to find the specific ports of call for Queen Elizabeth's three 10-day cruises from Vancouver beginning May 31, 2019, so I have just indicated "(Alaska)" here. I suppose those ports of call could be the same as for her previously announced 10-day segment from Vancouver for May 21-31, but I don't want to make that assumption.

I noticed a transcription error in the Cunard 2019 schedule I posted yesterday. Well, there's probably more than just one, but what I happened to spot is an issue with QM2's 14-day voyage for July 14-28. That voyage starts in Southampton, not New York. The previous voyage for July 7-14 is an eastbound crossing as indicated, so a 21-day round trip from New York should be possible for July 7-28, 2019.

Blue Marble - am I correct in thinking that there are 3 x 10 night cruises doing a round trip from Vancouver Alaska trip or am I missing something here? It seems rather odd that they would do it 3 times.

"May 31-Jun 10 Vancouver, (Alaska), Vancouver

Jun 10-20 Vancouver, (Alaska), Vancouver

Jun 20-30 Vancouver, (Alaska), Vancouver"

I believe the cruise(s) is at the end of the Queen Elizabeth's Grand Voyage and all three cruises have slightly different itineraries.

If I'm wrong someone will correct me :D

Just got an e-mail from Cunard. 2019 voyages go on sale to World Club members at 8 am on 14 September and to everyone else the next day. You can register an interest from 8 am on Tuesday 5 September.

There are some interesting itineraries there. I like the look of several. Decisions, decisions !

Oh no!

My son and his fiancee are hoping for a med cruise for their honeymoon in 2019. Looks like they may have to go to a different line.

I wonder why it is so heavily based on northern ports?

I was also hoping for a Med cruise and I'm surprised not to see any at all for the six week holiday period, which I'm constrained to.

Wow, there is much less emphasis on the Mediterranean.

They look very different than recent years, lots of choice for those who like Northern Europe !

A question is, does this have anything to do with Brexit or all of the recent problems in the med?

It's certainly interesting and it would indeed be the year of Brexit. My first thought was that with there being so many Med cruises are they looking to differentiate themselves in terms of itineraries?

Yes, I think that there has been a change from Med cruises to Northern Europe cruises so as to give it a change, and no, the top priorities on the Brexit agenda have nothing or little to do with tourism.

Hi Camgirl.. the med is becoming problematic for many cruise lines, along with the refugees floating around the med and the legal ramifications of having to pick them up and take them to the nearest safe port etc along with so many "no go" ports now because of security issues , Turkey, Egypt, Israel etc most cruise lines have been looking at changes for a few years but it takes a few seasons for the changed ports to work through the system.

Hopefully Cunard will look at spending more time here in the safer waters of the Pacific in the next few years..

Send your Son down here we will show them a great time!

It seems that most of the refugees are in the Mediterranean Sea bordering Libya. Specialized ships from numerous countries are present to ensure security, the conditions are changing. The situation is complex and it takes time to change things to the better. Still I would rather visit North African countries by ship instead of using other means of transport.

The times we live in are hard all around the world, but this does not keep me away from travelling :) !

A lot of the refugees are crossing to Kos in Greece and from Lybia across to Sicily and Malta, theres a map here from the BBC showing some of the routes.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-24521614

You only have to consider the ramifications of a cruise ship coming across a boat of refugees and having to stop to pick them up - deliver them to a safe port and can only leave once they have been accepted. For the cruiselines this must be a nightmare considering the effects this will have on their bottom dollar.

I can't imagine Ernie and Ethel been alt pleased if they thought they were heading off for a trip of a life time jaunt to cyprus and Rhodes and been diverted to Kos and made to stay there for a week while things were sorted.

A lot of the cruse lines have had to reconsider their protocols and security precautions several years in advance for their Itins, I think the Med has been problematic for some time, also the number of cruise ships servicing the area can't help. Its a great opportunity for us if they have to consider their usual routes as hopefully more interesting ports will come through. Alaska next year is one fantastic new one, I hope they consider stationing one of the Cunaders this side for a season in the future.
