Princess Cabin Reviews – NO CABIN QUESTIONS POSTED HERE PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

It was only after going back to the first page that I began to understand the point of this thread.

Think you need to keep posting the info on the spread sheet. It will be of use once you have more and more completed cabin reviews.

Need to be able to search easily for the type of cabin you want to compare.

ie I needed information on mini suites on Royal/Regal ships but it took me a long time to sort out the way to use the thread and open the spread sheet page on Princess.

I tried numerous times to navigate this....I gave up.

:(

Here are the directions to be able to filter the data:

Managing Data

In addition to scrolling through the data in the sheet you can create temporary filter views to find what you are looking for.

Any temporary view you create does not change any of the data in the sheet and cannot be seen by others.

To manipulate the data use the following instructions. You first need to sort the data then you can use filters for further drill down to get the information you want. You can sort on any column but I suggest sorting on the "Stateroom" column (column D).

● Put the cursor in any cell in Column D.

● Click on the "Data" drop-down menu at the top of the page.

● Click on the option "Sort sheet by Column A, A -> Z". The sheet is now sorted in cabin number order.

● From this point you can drill down by any one or more of the columns.

●● For example, if you wanted to see all of the category S4 cabins on the Caribbean Princess and the Emerald Princess:

●●● Click on the down arrow in the "Ship" column heading in row 1.

●●● Click on "Clear" then select "Caribbean Princess".

●●● Drag the slider bar down to find and click on "Emerald Princess".

●●● Click "OK" at the bottom of the box.

●●● Click on the down arrow in the "Category" column heading in row 1.

●●● Click on "Clear" then select "S4". If "S4" is not shown in the list there are no reviews of that category for those ships. You may select multiple categories.

●●● You can further drill down the data by selecting other columns for filtering.

● When you are finished with this predefined filter view, click the white "X" in the black banner at the top of sheet.

If you have any questions you can e-mail PrincessCabinComp@gmail.com and we will try to help.

Category: Premium Oceanview

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port/Aft

Quiet: No. This area of the ship is as quiet as a tomb, EXCEPT on this cruise the morning Bible study group seemed to congregate outside the chapel down the hall. They were NOISY.

View: Awesome. Floor to ceiling windows. Better than a balcony.

Privacy Issues: Yes. The door opens directly onto the elevator lobby.

Comments: Wonderful cabin. We have booked it again for a future cruise.

Deck: Plaza

Cabin #: P506

Category: IB

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Starboard

Connects With Cabin #: N/A

Quiet: Yes, for the most part. On 2 nights there were parties in the Atrium but all the noise quieted down by 11 and did not stop us from being able to sleep.

Balcony Size: N/A

View: None- inside cabin

Privacy Issues: None

Wind: N/A

Soot: N/A

Problems: There was a nasty smell in the bathroom all of the time in Port but we were told that was being fixed in the January 2015 dry dock.

Comments: We were comfortable enough we have booked the same cabin again for December 2016.

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Class: Grand

Deck: Caribe

Cabin #: C430

Category: B1

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern: Port, Midship

Connects With Cabin #: N/A

Accessible: No

Quiet: Yes

Balcony Size: Larger than normal. Extends past the balconies above and looks down on the balconies of the deck below.

View: Great

Privacy Issues: This is an extended balcony where the balcony above only partially covers the balcony. Extra space is worth any privacy issues in my opinion!

Wind: No problems

Soot: None

Problems: No problems

Comments: We booked as a guaranteed balcony and this is what we received. While still a balcony cabin, I definitely considered this an upgrade! I was slightly worried whether noise would be a factor being right next to the midship elevators/stairs, but it was never an issue.

Quiet mostly - no noise from lifts or passage. Once or twice we heard the little elephants gallivanting in the cabin above us. Not enough to be a nuisance and it was not regular noise from the cabin.

Balcony Size generous as Caribe deck has double width balconies - half covered and half open. We had a teak table and four chairs plus two recliners

View excellent

Comments pleasant airy comfortable. I failed to take a picture of the bathroom but it was marble with a glass shower door, spa bath and a separate room for the lavatory and hand basin. I also didn't take a picture of the sitting area which had a second desk, television with DVD player, fridge, sink and area with marble bench to prepare drinks, tub chair table, sofa ... The sofa folds out to an extra bed if needed.

Balcony Size: wider than other aft balconies

Privacy Issues: balcony does not have any cover- guest from above can look down at you

Soot: none

Problems: since cabin is on the end of a main water line- no hot water in morning for duration of cruise.

Comments: Beautiful cabin with an extra large balcony. The balcony is wider than other aft view balconies. Hot water was a problem- we were told that our cabin is the last cabin on a main water line- hence no hot water. We had hot water periodically in the evening only.

Ship ... Regal Princess

Class .. Mini suite

Deck .. Marina (15)

Stateroom .. M415 (starboard).

Mid ship

Accessible .. No. it's a regular cabin layout

Quiet .... No ... This cabin is directly below the movie screen out on deck. Most nights a late film shown at 10.15 then beds get moved to new positions for the day use. Little sleep before 1am. Often woken early by sunbeds not moved the night before. If you a party animal will suit you perfectly.

Also overlooked by the seawalk. Didn't bother us as much as the noise but still an inconvenience and we kept nets draw most of the day so not getting use of the balcony views. Balcony larger than average mini suite but hardly matters when you spend so little time on it.

Balcony ... Larger than regular mini suite

View ... We could see the ocean but from under the sea walk

Privacy issues ... See above ...

Wind ... Not a problem

Soot ... None

Problems ... As stated loud noise issues from deck above.

Comments ... This is what you may be offered if you tick the upgrade box having booked a balcony grade.

Problems - Directly below Lido where they stack the chairs and loungers every PM and AM. It seems they dropped the loungers on the deck every morning at 6:00 AM which caused a loud thud and vibration in the room, over and over. Not a pleasant way to be awakened. We heard the footsteps from Lido above day and night. Would not take this cabin again if they gave it away.

I do not recommend this cabin. It is located far away from the buffet and many of the lounges. The rocking motion of the ship is very noticeable, especially with gale force winds (we encountered these most of cruise).

Noise from herd of elephants (joggers) on Sun deck above.

Balcony Size

Large with Whirlpool tub, teak table with 2 chairs, 2 loungers with small table, but smaller than most other suites.

Privacy Issues

Wind

Soot

Problems

1, Whirlpool tub would get slight, oily bathtub ring from something in air jets. 2. Joggers who aren't supposed to be jogging on the Sun deck above. Staff closed off the area until after 7:30AM, but the joggers started at 5am before that.

Comments

The Princess Suite. Well appointed, wood everywhere, murals, orchids, fresh flowers, fireplace. We used the whirlpool tub for 2 on the balcony (which has a curved glass door into the bedroom) daily.

Great room. Quiet, in spite of being close to the elevators, which was convenient. Mini suites on the Dolphin deck are our favorite due to the great view from the balcony. The little sitting area is great too when it is too hot or cold to sit out on the balcony
