I found this online. I haven't taken advantage of it myself yet, but I thought some of my CC friends would like to give it shot.

Carnival is offering a promotional gift card when you purchase a $300 gift card at: http://www.carnivalgiftcards.com

Purchase a $300 gift card and get a $25 promotional card

Purchase a $500 gift card and get a $50 promotional card

If you have Carnival credit card, the promotion cards are doubled. The fine print is listed below...

Happy Black Friday everyone!

-DD

Promotional Gift Card Offer

Offer is available for online purchases on carnival.com and not through purchases onboard any of Carnival ships or through retail outlets. Offer is for the period from Friday November 28th 12:00am EST to Sunday November 30 11:59pm EST

Shipping, tax, and gift packaging does not count towards the required gift card purchase amounts.

Your promotional gift card and redemption instructions will be sent within 2 weeks of the promotion expiration date via the email that was used when placing the order, promotional cards expire within one year of the issue date, and will be indicated on the gift card.

Offer is for one promotional gift card for every qualifying card purchased and not for total order.

Promotional Gift Card can only be used onboard toward the Sail & Sign account for gifts, drinks, and fun.

We recommend adding DoNotReply@carnivalgiftcards.com to your contact list.

To DOUBLE your gift card's value, your purchase must be fully paid with a Carnival MasterCard. To be eligible for this offer, the card member's account must be open and in good standing.

Canceled orders do not qualify.

By participating in this promotional gift card event, you agree to have your award emailed to you via the email address provided when placing your order.

Purchase limit of 5 cards per person, per day.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to look into this!

any monies left over will be put back on this gift card. You make sure you cash out your account the night before-- BEFORE midnight using the casino or the kisok located at gift services

Not what happened to me a couple of weeks ago using an e-gift card.

On the Splendor repo, I applied a $500 gift card and had about $130 credit left. I'd been told here and at the service desk that it would go back on the card.

It didn't. I received a refund check in less than a week.

It seems that if you use them to pay on a cruise, but don't use the whole balance, it stays on the card. But if you apply them to your S&S account while on board and don't use it all, you get a refund.

Doesn't really matter. I don't want to cash out at the casino and have to travel home with a wad of cash. Getting the check was just fine. I mean, money is money after all. And now I don't have to keep up with the piece of paper.

I have a couple questions too.

1. My TA said she will accept Carnival gift cards. Want to be sure these will work for that before purchasing. Or do you have to use at Carnival.com?

2. My final payment date is on Dec 7th, Is the egift card sent right away. It says they will do it on Dec. 1st when they are back in the office after the holiday.

3. How do you then add the balance of an egift card to your account on the ship?

I was burned a few weeks ago with a carnival gift certificate which is different than a gift card so just want all the facts before I purchase. :)

Does anyone that has the carnival MasterCard know if this would be a purchase that would get double points? I would assume so since it's from carnival but just curious.

Also do you only get one promo card per person? In other words I can't make two separate purchases for $500 or more and get to promo cards can I?

I have been trying to get information and purchase one of these cards today. I am on my 3rd call to Carnival. I tried to purchase a $500 gift card, but there is no place on this web page to do so. When I tried calling, the reps act like they have no idea what I am talking about. So I am on hold for the 3rd time.

This is very frustrating.

It is there. Chose open value under item price then put in the amount you want.

It says limit 5 per person, per day. So if I want two $500 ones then you make two separate purchases?

I emailed my TA and she called Carnival to confirm for me that I can use the gift cards to pay off my cruise with her.

Somewhere in the fine print it says per qualifying card up to five promotional cards per person.

I highly recommend reading the thorough Verizon gift card thread. Lots of useful info there. I've bought both the fathers day gift card with promo bonus and the Verizon gift cards. May buy one of these tomorrow before I board freedom and apply to my Bermuda balance

Just wanting to make sure I am doing this right. Is there anything that is written letting you know before checkout that you are receiving the promotional gift card? I am at the checkout and I do not see anything, so it makes me nervous that I may not get the deal .

Thank you!

Carnival ran a similar promotion several months ago..only it was for XX amt of $$ and then you received 10% extra...they were both sent immediately..I purchased $1000 card and a $300 card and I received double points for both.

Does anyone know how/when the bonus part is applied? I tried to buy $500 but didn't see anything about the $50 bonus.

It states that the bonus will be sent within 2 weeks after the end of the promotion to the email address the card was sent. I just did three $500 cards so I hope it works!
