I will be stopping at la spezia from 7am to 7pm.i would like to go leaning tower in Pisa.what is the best option to get there.thank you

You can easily take the train - takes under an hour to reach Pisa.

BTW - if you wish to climb the tower, make sure to reserve in advance. http://www.opapisa.it/en/tickets/buy/

Just an opinion, but Pisa is often disappointing because there's not much to do there. Lucca is our favorite destination in Italy, with a wall surrounding the ancient town that you can ride bikes on to of.

As SuiteTraveler recommends, there's much to see in Pisa. I love Lucca, but I feel often Pisa gets a bum rap, its not just about the leaning tower. There're people that do both in one day, it depends how hurried you want to be. If going to Pisa for you its a highlight, then make that your focus and forget about Lucca.
