Growing Up

You know the great thing about growing up? It doesn’t matter if someone tells you or you read about, what you should or shouldn’t like…Over time you’ll figure it all out. You are the only one that can instill these nourishing feelings.

We started out cruising with our young family and after the cruise; I couldn’t wait to get back home. Didn’t love it or hate it, just was another vacation.

Now as empty nesters, we decided to give cruising another chance with up-scale lines. It toke us time with different cruise lines and ships to find out what our likes and dislikes were…Of course through the process we fell in love with everything about cruising. After going through all the pissing and moaning, we evolved and can enjoy ships and selected lines. Now completely understanding the reason why we selected a voyage and will dismiss the flaws that are inherent with that ship or owners. After narrowing down the ship size and cruise line; we still find some do things more to our liking while another will do different things that please us… (Wish we could blend all those things together) I am sure others also wish the same…

As a reader of CC; with the metamorphosis of experiences, we can now discern most posts to extrapolate the intended meaning. But feel badly for newbies trying to make the decision to spend an awful amount of money and will most likely have over expectations. Leading to a disappointing experience…

All we tell our friends now; go try them out, keep a record of things you like and things you don’t. Then on the next cruise, select one that will mitigate your dislikes and provide more enjoyment with the things you like. If you find you really like cruising, you will over time find just the right fit with cruise lines and particular ships. Who knows after a while you could be an expert; like a lot of others on this forum, even knowing all the crew and staff names on the ships.

Sorry the host felt compelled to delete some posts. Was only trying to help someone recognize, personal selections come from within and not what others tell you. Also trying to convey; compromising is something you will have to deal with, even after you identified your ideal ship or cruise lines.

That must be why so many people stay married so long…
