Champagne & Wines on Silver Shadow Alaska cruises

Hi all,

First time poster here...so please be patient with me while I get the 'lay of the land'.

We are looking to book an Alaska cruise this summer and are very close to proceeding with Silversea.

Can anyone tell me what kind of champagne they serve on board? It is very difficult to find any information about this.

Was on that voyage but don't think anyone will be able to answer do to they change champagnes all the times. They will offer you a couple of different types for free but you can always buy a bottle of Dom from them.

They usually serve Heidsieck Monopole blue top as the included pour. I believe they sometimes have Pommery available also.

You can purchase better quality champagnes from the wine list if you wish. It's certainly good to have that option if you like good champagne.

They like to pass off prosecco as champagne too - or they did a few years ago. Not sure if the situation has changed since I last cruised with SS, but it's offensive of them to assume that their guests don't know the difference. JMO.

On the recent LA to Ft Lauderdale the pour was the blue top. I did ask for Pommery and was poured that as well.

Just returned and ask for Pommery. They have it but they pour Meropole (sp) first. They do offer pink per second first. Enjoy!

and do not hesitate to ask for a bottle of French champagne in your cabin - Silversea does not send it automatically

we have always had a bottle of French champagne chilling in the bucket when we arrived in our suite.

we did not have to ask for it.

last cruise it was Pommery Louise.
