Open seating question

You can most certainly ask and the answer will be one of three:

1) Yes

2) No

3) Maybe ask again tomorrow

In other words, it is entirely up to whoever is standing at the podium when you ask.

I always go to the top lol

We have found it can happen often. On our last cruise (March 30) we got friendly with the DR Asst. Mgr. on the 1st night and he asked us then if we would like that table every night. He told us we didn't have to stop at the podium, but to just walk in as that was "our" table any time after 7:00 every night. It made things so easy.

Granted, it was unusual, he said that cruise had a multitude of early diners, and it was quiet after 7pm! But on other cruises we have been able to get the same table too, just by letting our servers know we like to be at their table. :)

I know of several people who have been able to ask for a certain size table at a certain time and were able to make reservations for 3 nights at a time.

Reservations can only be made from 5:15 - 6:15 and 7:30 - 9.

Good luck.

We must have been an exception to this rule. When we were on the Amsterdam to Alaska, our group of 12 requested a standing time for 6:00 for the entire 7 days. Although they couldn't give us 6, they allowed us to dine at 5:45. We had two tables for 6 aside the window. It was wonderful to have the same wait staff each evening.

we have had open seating twice. both times we asked for and received the same table and set time for the entire cruise. both were 14 day cruises. we would rather have set seating but sometimes it is not possible

good luck.
