This is my first time on NCL, I am a veteran cruiser, over 60 cruises.

I would like to know what are the favorite foods on NCL, especially on the Star. Also, I would like to know about the various tips that are peculiar to NCL. Freestyle dining I know about. Will be during a back to back Panama canal cruise, yeah 28 days, but this will be in January and February, the weather back home will very cold and snowy. Where I am at, 3 inches of snow is called flurries.

Thanks,

Stan:cool:

The scallop appetizer in LeBistro- phenomenal! I suggest going early in the week to make sure they don't run out. We had the large sea scallops at the beginning of the cruise, but had tiny sea scallops the last night :(. My favorite dish on any cruise.

I forgot about the dessert at Cagney's that was pure heaven - an ice cream sandwich made with shortbread cookies and macadamia nut ice cream! Omg so gooood!

That was my favorite too! But not on the new menu. Replaced with brownie ice cream sundae. Sooooo sad.

They still had the ice cream sandwich a couple weeks ago! It was divine.

I loved the mushroom soup at LeBistro and the Filet.

The samosa and lamb curry from the MDR.

The egg salad from the buffet.

Cagney's Ribeye and crab cake appetizer.

Lots and lots of good food.

Oh yeah, and lunch dessert, the white chocolate mousse. I can't remember what it was called, but it was so good - with little mini-malted milk balls!

Dessert crepes in the buffet at dinner time. On the Epic, we would grab one before heading to dinner -- it was our "dessertitizer". The Nutella crepe is awesome, but I also like their crepe Suzette with fresh lemon and a little brown sugar.

Lamb shank in MDR, lamb chops at Le Bistro. Popcorn shrimp for lunch in the MDR -- so good we ordered seconds and thirds!!!

Any of the desserts in Le Bistro -- the chocolate napoleon is wonderful.

I will also add the chorus singing the wonders of the cream of four mushroom soup at Le Bistro. And their Chocolate Napoleon is possibly the best dessert I have ever had, period.

I really, really miss the MDR's scotch kippers and onions for breakfast.
