On our recent and only Azamara cruise we found the included wines to be of poor quality. In fact we saw the Chardonnay for sale in a port shop for 6euro per bottle. Not impressed.

I only bring my own on or buy great wines.. i think they gone down hill in the past two years

I'm afraid I cannot agree - it was not quite as good as it had been in the past at Christmas (though still very drinkable) but on the transatlantic in April there were several new varieties and all were excellent the best they have had Ok one persons opinion (how do you cope on white nights and around the bars every night with your own stuff anyway? ) but I won't be bringing my supplies on and unless I had OBC I could not use or it's a special meal, I will be drinking the included wines.

That's great news and thanks to Azamara for listening. I will say that, on 13 nights on Quest in March, we found most of the included wines to be eminently swillable with only a few that we didn't care for. I think it's to be expected that we wouldn't enjoy every single offering, as tastes are so individual.

We had massive amounts of OBC because of the late shortening of our cruise so were able to enjoy some fabulous wines off the paid list as well. It was a nice balance.:)

Brilliant news indeed. There will always be bits and bobs that people will want more off, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. I am sure it will be very popular, granted it might not be the best for some for 'more inclusive' this is great news and clearly once again shows Azamara listens.

We completed our first Azamara cruise in June and enjoyed it so much that we have booked up again as it completely ticks all the boxes for us. Small ships, don't need the glitz and glamour just quality, good value for money and most importantly the service and of course let's not forget the unique itineraries.

Very excited to sail soon on our next Azamara cruise.

I think the included wines are fine. They are not the best, but I wouldn't expect that. They are very drinkable. If I want something better, I order a bottle of the menu and pay. Seabourn and Silver Sea serve better included wines but you also pay a lot more for your cruise. The Azamara price / quality balance is fair and just right i.m.o.

Just off Journey two weeks ago and I thought the included wines were rather better than last time. I am not usually a fan of rose wine but tried it one lunchtime and it was very drinkable. There are now several reds I enjoy and two whites, so with the new wine policy of having four choices a day, I think Azamara has it just right.

Yes if you want vintage wine, then you have to pay for it. Isn't that true of everything in life? :)

Lottie, I agree. I didn't have an issue with either the whites or reds. There were two whites and two reds available each day on the last cruise I did and it was very satisfactory.

Normally avoid any wine discussions as it's a very subjective area, we enjoy wine mainly reds but in the 6 years we have been cruising with Azamara there has only been one red we did not like. I say like because there was probably nothing wrong with it just not to our tastes.

But over many years we have come to the conclusion that the enjoyment of a wine has nothing to do with the price, perceived quality or label, but more to do with presentation and ambience.

Certainly we have enjoyed many a glass of wine with pleasant company and stunning views in the Sunset Bar on both ships[emoji485]

The included sparkling wine is very drinkable, it's not Prosecco or a specific Cava, I think it's to the same standard that used to be given to Le Club Voyage guests in their cabins. The genuine Champagnes are reserved for special occasions Like Top Cruiser awards. Owner/Ocean suite guests also get the real stuff.

So French fizz? I do feel that a good cava is so much better but I'll need to drink a few glasses just to test it!;)

If no one has posted a pic of the label by the time I board in a few weeks, then I'll be sure to do so.

I have no problems with the wine served either, didn't fine one in the 32 nights that I didn't like, but I did find and have found that there's negative people around that you just can't please all the time. I still think Azamara are doing a fine job with their food and wine!!!!

Hi,

Quick question if I may.

We have literally just booked our first AZ cruise and my wife prefers wine for her tipple. Could someone confirm whether it is available all of the time during bar opening times or just during meal times?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Yes,all the time! During meal times and from any of the bars open outside of meal times ( Sunset Bar, Pool Bar, Casino Bar and ( when open) Living Room Bar).

What a civilised way to start the day. Suspect Lottie A and I will be partaking of several breakfast mimosas on Journey next month

Oh forget the healthy energises from now on - I am sorted! (But only on sea days, I do not think for me mimosas and sightseeing combine too well but I am a lightweight in that department)

Good plan however we only have one sea day which is the last day of the cruise.

Just not sure I can wait that long.

3 days and counting

maybe the tower at Pisa will be straight after all :D:D

Cannot wait, but so much to do first....
