Buongiorno from SD1 coming up on Rapallo, Italy Monday 23 May AM. Cloudy, a bit chilly and likely rain but rest of the voyage the forecast is warmer and sunnier. Embarking in Nice was like old home week. Up the stairs we went and there to greet us were Jeff as Club Director and Pierre as Hotel Manager - in the flesh, not just a mirage or distant memories of earlier voyages. We have been on SD2 the past several years so it was heart warming to quickly encounter Dr. Andy, Brian, Eugene, Mikee and Rose, among others. Met Captain Remi for first time. Excellent first dinner. Full ship with several groups, including one from Japan of older folks and a Mexican contingent less old. No kids! There is no place like home ...

Not even 24 hours since we got off and missing it already. Although, our room last night at the CDG Hilton was huge. Spent some time just walking around it. The shower stall, though, was smaller than SD, if you can imagine that. And no Bulgaria. Have a wonderful time, JES. Get to know Capt. Remi. He is SD's most outgoing and visible captain.
