Thanks for posting that information MCC retired & Astro Flyer.

You're welcome & hopefully it'll be beneficial for some passengers but based on the fares promoted on their flyer the fares don't seem low enough to entice me to book so early.

It's becoming more common on cruises we're interested in sailing to have a higher cruise fare & receiving larger amounts of OBC to lower the net price but soon that OBC will be less valuable to me. Beginning summer 2017 their written statements say that we can no longer book tours in advance & pay for them onboard using OBC. Instead to pre-book tours we need to pay when booking them or we can wait until boarding to hope to have our preferred tour available to book it & use OBC to pay for it.

There are several threads about this change & don't want to hijack this thread with another discussion about it but that's why promotional OBC from a sale is less valuable to me & is not as much of an incentive for me to book a cruise.

Thanks for the helpful information, hopefully this is also valid for Europe sailings, and for European citizens.

Some cruises up to Northern Europe, especially on Crown are partly insanely high prices, so I was thinking some time they should get a little cheaper...

In my previous post the PDF flyer shows some of the cruises include European cruises between April & October 2017. Although it's only for Med & BI cruises and apparently Northern Europe cruises are selling well & thus not on sale.

The statement I posted shows that the sale is valid in parts of North America with Bermuda being the exception.

"Offer is available to residents of the 50 United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Bermuda and the District of Columbia who are 21 years of age or older and receive this offer".

  • 2 weeks later...

Anniversary sale began today. My Panama Canal booking fare went up and the free grats went away. OBC went from $200 to $400. My Hawaii booking fare also went up. OBC stayed the same but the free grats went away.

I'm going to stick with my current bookings.

Don't know whether we Europeans have got another sale, but also for us Germans, most cruises are way cheaper now than the several months ago - maybe we also got the particular sale or Princess has reduced the prices for most 2017 sailings when the new 2018 itineraries were coming out.

Also in Dec 2015 when summer 2017 was released the fares were quite high, but the 2016 season got cheaper.

Maybe that's a price structure Princess is practicing now. :)

My experience also tells me in Feb/Mar the fares for the upcoming season get even lower - so maybe in Feb/Mar 2017 the fares for summer 2017 get even lower. :)

I have a question, I've already booked and all the minisuites and suites are gone, so I suppose this new sale won't work for me since my cabin type is already gone, so they can't reprice if there is nothing available?

I was hoping to get more obc. Right now I have 300.00 obc, free drink pkg for one person and free spec. dinner for all three of us

Thank you for the information. Right now I'm in the best position with our two booked cruises: I booked during a recent promo and got obc for an ocean view cabin, plus free gratuities, plus more obc from Costco. Then, I was able to have the bookings changed to their $1 deposit on Cyber Monday, but got to keep the previous perks.

So, I'll wait now for the prices to hopefully go down below the savings I'm getting in perks. If not, I'll just pay off the cruise next summer. We'd have to get over $2,000 in price drop, and I don't think that's going to happen.

But, I appreciate knowing the current offers so I can compare.

I thought this was to be a Sale that I would jump on to book our 2018 Crown Princess cruise .

However , that 1 Day, $1 Deposit Sale on Nov 28th was also a 3 for free with lower rate than now . Good I jumped on it .

If it wasn't for here CC , I would never have learned about the $1 Deposit .

The 3 for Free with just a $1 deposit to lock it in was a really great deal.

Bad or just plain sad news...The casino rate will only be available during 2 week sales at random intervals. In other words....if you booked and locked in the rate...great..if not youll have to keep asking.

I suspect that Princess tries to keep every sale similar in overall benefits to the average cruiser. Over the last three promotions, the benefits were different, but when comparing them to each other, they all pretty much ended up costing about the same. Sometimes gratuities are free, sometimes OBC is higher, sometimes something else is offered. But they all seem to end up costing the average cruiser about the same in the end. Some people will benefit from one and not the other, while others will benefit from the opposite. In the end, Princess gets the same amount of money from all of us, regardless of which promotion we booked with.
