Warning Gift Cards

I just went to the fun shops and entered the information to purchase Cheers and there was a block now to purchase with Carnival Gift Cards. I checked the block and it gave me the area to enter the gift card information and showed taking both gifts cards and a zero balance. It then had a button to complete purchase and it then said there was a problem with my card and did not complete the order. I called Carnival and the rep there was very blunt and said you could not use gift cards even after I told her that the web site now has a block to enter the information. I then checked my gift card balances and they now show a zero balance. Will have to fight Carnival tomorrow on that problem. Short thing is DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE YOUR GIFT CARDS YET.

I believe you can only use the gift cards to purchase Cheers on board, not on line. You don't get the discount but you can still use them

There was another thread started with a few people saying the payment screen for cheers was now showing a spot to enter gift cards. Some of us tried it using various devices and browsers but could never see the same screen. One or two people did. Maybe this option isn't fully functional yet given what the OP said and what was discussed in the other thread. Carnival said they would be working on a way to make it possible to use gift cards, but the system shouldn't be live at all to anyone if it's not working properly. I sure hope the OP gets his/her money back without a bunch of hassle.

Meanwhile, you can purchase cheers at the cheaper online price with gift cards onboard. I did it. Several have done it. You need to email cclsupport@carnival.com and ask them to confirm that you can do this so you have proof in writing. Load your cards, then take your s&s to the casino or atrium bar and purchase cheers. You may have to ask for the bar manager. We had no issue when we did it.

Gift cards do work fine for other things. I have used for the spa in recent weeks and everything went through fine.

I hope they get this worked out. I have used them to book shore excursions online.

In October we tried to download our gift cards. Said 0 balance. We took to guest services. There was internet issues. Went back about hour later. Downloaded just fine.

Just an update, they have taken down the link to use gift cards off of the Fun Ship site and the rep I spoke to is sending an email to gift card resolution desk for them to try and find out where my funds went. Just going to have to wait and see what they find out.

Yes. That is totally different than the Fun Shops.

I hope you get some answers soon.

I saw this screen last week while at work. Went and bought my gift cards. When I got home screen no where to be found. So, I just paid my cruise off

CHEERS! can be purchased online at http://www.carnival.com/Funshops or by contacting 'The Fun Shops' Department at 800 522-7648, Monday through Sunday, 8:00am-12:00am ET. Cut-off for pre-purchase is at 11:00pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure.

Once onboard, the cost for CHEERS! is $54.95 USD per person, per day plus 15% gratuity. Guests can sign up for CHEERS! at the Atrium Bar, Casino Bar or at the midship pool area bar.

Currently, we are not able to process the Carnival Gift Card for Fun Shop orders. If you wish to purchase CHEERS! with a Carnival Gift Card, you may do so onboard.

Price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price.

It works. Exactly how I outlined above. Been tgere. Done tgat. And I would push back on anything said differently. This is Carnival's own fix until they resolve the problem fully.

Am not doubting you just saying she responded differently when I inquired. Perhaps if we knew the date or had a snapshot of her reply saying it could be done at the lower rate it would make it easier for the rest of us, either way the 80.00 difference isn't going to break me but would be nice to spend elsewhere like the steakhouse.
