We have a choice to make:

1) midship Emerald deck 414 balcony obstructed

OR

2) mid forward Emerald deck 330 delux balcony obstructed

Price difference approximately &100pp more for delux

Advice would be appreciated!

If you go to princess.com, find your ship, select deck plans and you will see the placement of the life boats. There are quite a few cabins that have a view between life boats.

Better to look at actual photos of the obstruction. ;)

I can see from the picture that E330 has a lifeboat directly under it.

Many cabins have actual photos but this cabin does not. I understand that if I look down, I'll see the lifeboat. My question is if I look straight out from the balcony is the view unobstructed?

From looking at the site posted above, and comparing to photos of the side of the ship, looks like your view is going to be of the top of the lifeboat - ie quite similar to the photos in site above of E314 or 315....

If you stand at your balcony rail, there is no obstruction. Any obstruction would be from the railing down.
