Alaska cruise

:confused:hi,we would like to cruise Alaska in the month of August 2016.any advice as to the bast option available? Also we are intending to start north bound,but returning to Vancouver from Anchorage is a problem .can any one suggest best route/

Do you not want to cruise back to Vancouver?

As you may know, Holland America has 14 day round trip itineraries sailing from and returning to Vancouver. These sell well and many appear to be full for 2016.

You can also book a northbound cruise on one ship and a southbound on a different ship. Or do a back to back on the same ship. These all sail from and return to Vancouver. Princess, HAL, Celebrity are available for this.

Finally, Air Canada has a daily non-stop from Anchorage to Vancouver.

Any land transportation from Anchorage to Vancouver is laborious and complicated due to geography and the lack of existing highways.

It's late to be booking an Alaskan cruise for this coming August. You may find a limited choice of ships and cabins. Airfare can also be a problem. Good luck!

I must disagree. Cruising is the best option. So we have a 7 day NB cruise, a 7 day land tour and a 7 day SB cruise.
