Costa Fascinosa deck 1

We had a midships cabin on Favalosa on deck 1. Everything was fine except for the noise from the crew bar below us. They partied until late. We complained and complained and nothing was done until we spoke to the English host who fixed us up with another cabin on deck 8. Reception had just kept saying they couldn't do anything without contacting Savona and we were Transatlantic!

So, no engine noise midships.

We were on Favolosa, same class of ship in 1417 and 1421 which are down the blunt end! When docking we could hear and feel slightly the engines but no more than we could when in other cabins higher up on other ships.

So dont worry, there was nothing to disturb us and we woke many times already in port!

We're on the ship. Deck 1 inside cabins are noisy due to lack of internal soundproofing. So the entertainment on deck 3 and 4 can be heard through to 2 am. After complaining we were moved to deck 6. Now the theatre can be clearly heard, but that stops at 11:15 or so, so we can now get some sleep.

Be prepared for a very noisy, disorganised experience.

We have been on deck 1 on Serena (Cabin 1234) and Favolosa (1284) and had not a problem with noise at all. We love Costa's cabins and that they allow 5 persons per cabin they do allow us to cruise economically!

Strange, we have been on Costa many times and its been dead quiet, never heard the next cabin, never herd the staff bars, never heard the theatre. Perhaps we have been a bit more selective where we get a cabin.

However....it can often appear to be chaotic....thats the Italians relaxation! Wouldnt have it any other way.......
