I was on the Orchestra a few years back.

During the finally of the production show on the last night they sang "Time to Say Goodbye".

I have seen it on youtube from many different MCS ships.

Do they still do this or is just a thing of the past?

"Con Te Partiro" in the original version sung by Andrea Boccelli (Time to Say Goodbye is the English version) is pretty much the MSC theme song. Not only is it usually always sung by the entertainers in the theatre but the bridge frequently plays it on the loud speakers when the ship leaves port. It's still very much alive!

Glad to hear that.

We did our Orchestra cruise in 09.

For some reason, that song is what my family remembers about that trip...

One of my all time favorite songs, ever. Have you looked at the "Il Divo" version?

The beautiful song Com te Partiro is unfortunately not always played on the MSC ships. I love that song also and I have expected it many times on the sail away. On my last two MSC cruises, they did not play it. The crew informed me that it dependes of the captain of the ship. I have asked the captain and he said they were not allowed to play loud music on sailaways on certain ports.

On Itineraries with multiple embarkation ports, what would be considered the last night?

Played every time we left ports on our recent Splendida sailing from Southampton to Genoa and on the evening of the last production show.

Quite a reminder to me personally as the day before we left on that sailing I buried a close friend I'd known for 40 years who passed unexpectedly and this song was part of the ceremony.
