zenshift Posted May 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2016 Can somebody, anybody take a picture of how room 4567 joins the main hallway? On the deck plans it magically appears in the middle of the ship and none of the reviews of the room explains where its located relative to the hallway of the ship. Thanks in advance. PNWMomma Posted May 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2016 I am wondering the same thing. I would offer to take pictures, but not sailing until August. Curious what it backs up too as well.

Rare mking8288 Posted December 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) We had an OV porthole on the GEM several years ago - 456X portside - the white space on the deck map is crew only area, some for storage and some are inside staterooms and/or "offices" for the officers (not all of them have oceanviews and/or "below" the pax decks) On one side, there're actually security screening equipment (airport style metal detectors & x-rays) put away & behind the blue curtain ... used when ship is at the ports. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10549.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10548.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10550.JPG Those 2 inside rooms, if I am not mistaken, is in a side hallway - might've been originally part of the crew quarters, no longer needed or used, and put into the inventory ?? You can't go thru to the other side (starboard) of the ship as it is a dead end. On the opposite side of the ship is lots of equipment, carts and containers for supplies, etc. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10552.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10553.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/109650591/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10554.JPG It's quiet down on deck 4 except on turnaround day and when the ship is in the ports ... we could hear & almost feel the anchors being raised & lowered with the heavy chains. P.S. Will be back on the GEM in a few months, staying on deck 10 - if I remember to, will take a walk down there to see if anything changed since we sailed her in 2012.
