There are many comparison threads on CC which may be helpful. It is an interesting itinerary on either line so study the brochures and go with whichever suits you best and you will have a wonderful experience on either.Enjoy.

We were on the Silver Spirit cruise thru the Canal last January. While it is a lovely ship, we found the cruise very disappointing. We had expected that there would be some information about the Canal, its history, future, etc. from a speaker.

The speakers were very poor and no one had any expertise on the Canal or specifics of the Central American ports we visited. A Canal employee was on board the day of the crossing and he was very good but his comments were limited to what we were actually seeing. No context or background.

This was in comparison with a Crystal cruise we took in Africa where there was a port briefing before every stop, an African expert lecturer and other information about the area. Based on our experience, we would not sail with Silversea again.
