What has happened to Sea Messenger app?

I have it downloaded on my iphone, my daughter went to download it on hers but we can't find it in the apple app store.

How does she access it without the app?

Was hoping to use it to keep in touch onboard ship (Royal).

Thanks in advance.

It's no longer available. From what I've read, it's not needed. You can message each other through Princess@Sea.

DH and I will both have iPhones and complimentary internet for a transatlantic cruise.

How does Princess@Sea work? Are the phones on Airplane Mode?

We're just off the Royal and you no longer need the app. Very easy to set up onboard including the text feature. It's very useful and a great way to keep in touch onboard.

I think you need the app if you want notifications.

I noticed that there was an update to the android app in the

past day or two.

I don't know if you can now get "push" notifications without the app or not. Originally that's the only thing the app provided.

I had my phone in airplane mode and used the system on Crown Princess in February. Since you are using the ship's intranet rather than the Internet it works fine.

Yes it works in when phone in airplane mode. We were on the royal in June.

Go to the Internet cafe and they will put buttons on your phone to log on, log off and access messenger. They also show you how to use it and your internet if you have it. You have to log off your internet after every session, the buttons make this very easy and you can delete them at the end of the cruise.

They were really nice in the Internet cafe. For the first few days they had extra people to help. Go when the staff are there in the evening as it seemed quieter-most people at dinner I guess.

It has nothing to do with the Internet as Princess@Sea uses the ship's Intranet. All you need is the ability to connect to the ship's WiFi, even in Airplane mode.
