BA, BB, BC, BD balcony cabins...differences?

We're booked on a BD balcony cabin on Sapphire, but was wondering, is there any difference between a BA, BB, BC, and BD, other than price and location? Is one cabin or balcony bigger than another or are the letters just to say where the cabin is located?

It is confusing because Princess has different sized balconies within the same category for Cat BA and BB balconies and also differences between size of side facing balconies and aft facing balconies. Basically, Caribe deck balconies located on side of ship (which are both Category BA and BB) are the largest sized at 9 ft. wide x 9 ft. deep. All other side facing balconies (no matter the category) are sized 9 ft. wide x 5 ft deep, I believe. (I am sure of a balconies located on Lido, Riviera, Aloha and Baja for certain. Not exactly sure of the Emerald deck balconies.)

Aft facing balconies which are Category BB rated are sized larger at around 10 ft x 11 ft and are fully covered. Some of the Baja cabins facing aft have a column obstruction on the balcony.

Hope this helps some.
