....exactly what I suspected - thanks for confirming it!

We are sailing the 9 night on Nov 30. Really excited! I have been to St. Maarten so many times on cruise stops and never realized Anguilla was a quick ferry ride away. Thought we'd stay in St. Maarten pre-cruise the obligatory l day prior, and do a day trip to Anguilla. As I was researching, I realized, hey, no, I want to stay on Anguilla! Just booked 4 nights pre cruise on Anguilla so really looking forward to experiencing a new island and a sailing ship. I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love with Windstar.

Thanks, sb, I appreciate your advice!

Mustsea,

You will love Anguilla. Have been there pre cruise and on separate trips. Great island, feels like you are thrown back 40 years. Nicest beaches in Caribbean. Amazing restaurants. somewhat expensive but worth it. Still relatively unspoiled. Surprised Windstar does not call on the island given some other luxury lines are. Rent a car there are beaches all over he island each with its own beach shack. Go and have a drink at Dune Preserve On Rendez Nous Bay.. I could go on and on. Where are you staying?

Sounds like my kind of paradise! ...Well suited to my inner beach bum. So excited!! It was a difficult choosing a hotel but in the end picked Zemi Beach House (found a good deal). I will check out Frangipani and Serenity Cottages to see what I think for next time. Thanks for the tips. We will rent a car and explore. Another site suggested Andy's car rental at the ferry terminal.

Thanks, Misty Morning!

We stayed at Ambia Villa near Sandy Ground which I believe now only rents all 4 rooms at once ( it was more of a B&B before it recently got renovated). Correct me if I am wrong but Zemi is on .Shoal Bay East? If so this is Anguilla's most famous beach. But you will be a bit further from most of the other beaches which are in the West End and will definitely need a car. Frangipani is good location but probably more expensive

Anyone reading this who wants to day trip to Anguilla needs to make sure you have your passport with you. We stopped in St Martin on Legend from San Juan last year and some people were going to day trip but didn't think to get passports from ship. Just a word to the wise as you never know who might be reading this thread.

Yes, Shoal Bay East. I realized it is a bit away from the "action" but we don't mind quiet, and just a short ride away we'll be exploring every beach, and different restaurants and shacks. I plan to be well informed for my next visit! I'll post my thoughts and observations when we return.
