Not gotten a clear answer on port page...transportation Port Liberty to LGA

Recommended Posts

Did not see your post on the east coast board, so here is one already there

Don't see a post on the east coast board either, but I think this one pretty much lays out the options. A taxi is on the meter, and crossing state lines drives up the cost. A car service is generally going to be your best bet, unless you can fly into and/or out of Newark, which is probably a better bet.

For anyone sailing in and out of LGA keep in mind that there is major construction (they are rebuilding the airport) going on at the airport causing severe traffic backups. Just google LGA airport construction traffic.

We hear about it all the time on the local news so do keep this in mind and allow extra time to get to and from Cape Liberty.

Hi, when we sailed here back in April we used Carmel Limo to get from Manhattan to the port which was a good price and when we docked we did the cruise lines own transfer service to the airport, IIRC there was an independent transfer desk at the port, one other option you could try is posting on your roll call for a ride share or put a card on the notice board on the ship asking if anyone wants to share a ride.

hope this helps.

We use Carmel anytime we are in NY, you can even find discount coupons plus they have their own app that works both on iOS and Android, You can see how much it costs by inputting your pickup and drop off locations, it costs $72 for a Town Car and $86 for a minivan to go from Port Liberty to LGA

I also don't see a post from the OP on the East Coast Board.

There is no clear solution for going from Cape Liberty to LGA and it's not cheap. What exact date would you need to do this and what time is your flight? These details will affect the price.

Here are the options you should check out:

1). Car Service like Dial7 or Carmellimo

2). Does your cruise offers a LGA transfer and what are the flight time requirements.

The Taxi Dispatcher at Cape Liberty can arrange transportation for you when you get off the ship. The vehicle could be almost any livery car that is willing to go to LGA and it could be a shared ride. It would be a fixed rate plus tolls (at least $15-23) and tip. There are no metered cabs available at Cape Liberty.

The most recent recommendations have been to allow 3 hours to LGA from Manhattan, so add up to another hour from Cape Liberty depending on the exact date and time you want to do this.

Public transit options can be complicated and time consuming. Post back if you're interested in the options.
