Hotel in Tokyo

Hi, we are looking for a hotel for 3 nights in a central location in Tokyo so we can explore the city before our cruise. Any recommendations for a central location with easy transport links from the airport and to the cruise terminal? Thanks!

We stayed at the Courtyard Tokyo Station prior to our cruise this year. We took the Narita Express directly from the airport to Tokyo Station. It is about a 10 minute walk from Tokyo Station to the hotel and about 1/2 block to Kyobashi Station for the circular JR train line. We used Marriott points for 4 days and got the 5th night free. At the end of our stay, we walked back to Tokyo Station and caught the train to Yokohama, then a taxi to the cruise port. Lots of places to eat nearby. Small room compared to US standards, but good enough for a short stay.

We will be there in March and will stay at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel. From the research I've done it seems to be centrally located and is a pick up point for many tours. It is also a pick up and drop off point for the airport limo bus.

We stayed at a great hotel new the Tokyo Station.

The hotel was the Hotel Metropolitan Marunouchi

We paid about $175 per night and that included breakfast. We had easy access to rail transportation and inexpensive restaurants.

One more thing, we arrived at Narita Airport and were able to take the train directly into Tokyo Station and roll our luggage to the hotel. We saved a lot on taxi cost.

I stayed in the Hotel Marunouchi (not the Metropolitan one but they are very close to each other) and agree that it is a great location. We walked to Ginza a couple of times, and everywhere else was an easy train ride away.

One of the other buildings in Marunouchi, that was linked by an underground walkway to the station, had a whole floor of restaurants (level 5 or 6 I think) which you would never know were there unless someone took you there. We actually went to a couple and had amazing meals at both. The first one we went to with business colleagues of DH, the second we just took pot luck on and it was great. Haven't got a clue what they were called though.

We like 4774Papa stayed at the Metropolitan Marunouchi, it's on the top floors of an office building next to the train station (you walk out the exit and the entrance to the hotel is right there). The views from the rooms are very good and the hotel is very nice, check trip advisors. If the hotel is full, try the Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo, it's about one block away and has very good ratings on trip advisors. Cost of the hotels are about the same.

Most of the tours have a pick up point at or near the Tokyo Stations so these two hotels as well as the Hotel Marunouchi are very convient.
